Aldesa, through its subsidiary specialized in railway infrastructure, Coalvi, has successfully completed the logistics project for the construction of the rail access to the Eastern Industrial Area of Burgos, Spain. The project, with an investment of €14 million, was financed 50% by the Regional Ministry of Development and Environment and 50% by Kronospan, a company dedicated to the manufacture of wood-based panels for the construction industry.
The new infrastructure has been classified as a priority regional project for rail access to the eastern industrial area of the city.
The facilities in the Castañares industrial park are now connected to the Villafría dry port by a 5.3 km long railway branch. Its route goes around the Villafría airport and runs parallel to the AP-1 as far as the junction with the N-120, where an overpass has been built. It thus becomes a key to the economic development of the region by significantly reducing road transport.
Aldesa has extensive experience in logistics-related projects and is currently carrying out several contracts for ADIF. These include the Valencia Fuente San Luis Intermodal and Logistics Terminal (Phase 1), part of a broader initiative to remodel the Valencia Fuente San Luis Logistics Center, located along the Mediterranean Corridor. In addition, at the Júndiz Intermodal and Logistics Platform (Vitoria), Aldesa is responsible for the first phase of the project that will progressively transform it into an interoperable facility, becoming the first in Spain to be connected via standard gauge to the Atlantic Corridor.
