Aldesa Polska has completed construction of the Bobrowniki–Skórowo section of the S6 highway, a nearly 13-kilometre stretch that opened to traffic on June 26th and will help improve the road connection between Szczecin and the Gdańsk metropolitan area.
The contract, awarded by Poland’s General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, GDDKiA, had an approximate budget of €66 million. The works included the construction of the Rzechcino and Skórowo interchanges, engineering structures, drainage systems, noise barriers, wildlife crossings and fencing.
One of the project’s main technical features is the use of concrete pavement, a solution still relatively uncommon on Polish highways, selected for its durability.
With this project, Aldesa strengthens its presence in Poland, where it has been operating for 19 years. In recent years, the company has delivered or is in the final stages of completing three contracts for GDDKiA on the S6, S7 and S19 highways, totalling more than 36 kilometres of infrastructure and a combined value of nearly €327 million.
