Aldesa ranks first in the tender for access infrastructure to the Lubiatowo-Kopalino nuclear power plant

Aldesa has achieved first place in the tender process for the construction of a key section of the national road that will connect the future Lubiatowo-Kopalino nuclear power plant in Poland. Its bid, submitted by a consortium formed by Aldesa Construcciones Polska and Aldesa Construcciones, was the most competitive in the bid opening process, with a value of PLN 199.9 million.

The project includes the construction of 15 kilometers of new roadway, linking provincial road DW213 with the Łęczyce interchange on the S6. This infrastructure will have a strategic impact, improving mobility in the region and facilitating the transport of materials and personnel to the nuclear plant. Its design will allow the circulation of heavy vehicles required both during the construction phase and during the subsequent operation of the facility.

Evaluation process and next steps

Securing first place in the tender is only one stage within the award procedure. Poland’s General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) is currently carrying out the formal analysis of the submitted bids. Once the review and validation process is completed, the contract will be signed, marking the start of the works.

Design, construction, and permitting activities are expected to be completed within a maximum period of 35 months from the signing of the contract. Winter periods (from December 16 to March 15) will not be included in the execution timeframe.

If the process follows the established schedule, the contract will be signed in the second quarter of 2025, allowing construction to be completed in the second quarter of 2028.

Key infrastructure for Poland

This section forms part of a national strategic project to connect the future Lubiatowo-Kopalino nuclear power plant to Poland’s road network. The construction of this road will not only improve logistics for the plant but also enhance regional mobility, easing congestion on local roads and reducing travel times between the Trójmiasto metropolitan area and the coastal towns of the Choczewo district.

In addition, the new infrastructure will help strengthen road safety and reduce the environmental impact of traffic by minimizing noise, vibrations, and emissions in the area. The road has been included in the Polish government’s investment program for the development of strategic energy infrastructure in the Pomerania region.

With this project, Aldesa strengthens its presence in Poland, where it is currently executing other strategic contracts in the infrastructure and energy sectors.
