The new 400 kV infrastructures will strengthen the electrical grid in the north of the country and facilitate the integration of offshore wind energy.
Aldesa, a global company and benchmark in construction, infrastructure, energy, and concessions, has been awarded two contracts for the development of 400 kV electrical transmission infrastructures in Poland for the country’s electricity system operator, Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne (PSE), with a combined value exceeding €50 million. The projects will help reinforce the Polish power grid and facilitate the integration of energy generated by offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea.
One of the contracts, valued at approximately €37 million, covers the Choczewo – Gdańsk Błonia – Grudziądz Węgrowo section. The second, with a budget of around €16 million, includes the connection of the Choczewo substation to the existing Słupsk–Żarnowiec line.
Both projects are part of the strategic infrastructure that will enable the integration of electricity produced by future Baltic offshore wind farms into the national grid, enhancing the system’s capacity to incorporate new renewable generation.
Aldesa has extensive experience in very high-voltage transmission infrastructure and, in Poland alone, has built nearly 280 kilometers of lines, participating in the development of key projects for the country’s energy system. These new contracts further strengthen its position in the development of energy infrastructure in Europe and in projects linked to the energy transition.
