sustainability

Environmental efficiency and sustainability

We care for the planet and are moving towards climate neutrality.

At Aldesa, we see every project as an opportunity to make a positive impact on the environment. We use certified management systems and proven policies that ensure full compliance with regulations and drive continuous enhancement of our environmental practices.

sustainability

Environmental and energy management

All our companies are certified to ISO 14001, ensuring robust control and prevention processes for environmental impacts such as waste, emissions, discharges and noise. Each project includes its own Environmental Management Plan, which also applies to our suppliers and subcontractors.
We also operate an energy management system in line with ISO 50001, promoting greater efficiency in the use of energy and resources.

sustainability

Action against climate change

We calculate and certify our carbon footprint (Scopes 1, 2 and 3) in accordance with the ISO 14064 standard, and proudly hold the official Calculate, Reduce and Offset seal.
In 2024, we reached a major milestone: Aldesa Energías Renovables, Grupo Aldesa and Coalvi achieved carbon neutrality through certified reforestation projects.

sustainability

Circular economy and sustainable construction

We design our infrastructures with the entire life cycle in mind. We are committed to the reuse and recovery of waste, the responsible use of water and energy, and innovation in materials and construction techniques.
Our buildings are developed with sustainability at their core and are endorsed by internationally recognised certifications such as LEED and BREEAM.

Examples of our commitment

Chiapas forest nursery (Mexico)

Since 2012, this nursery, located within the Tuxtla–San Cristóbal and Arriaga–Ocozocoautla motorway, has been producing up to 35,000 plants per year, mainly for reforestation work on the margins of the right of way.

With this initiative:

  • Over 41 kilometres of motorway have been reforested.
  • More than 2,700 tonnes of CO₂ have been absorbed, according to estimates.
  • More than 68,000 plants have been donated to educational institutions and environmental organisations, which have been planted together over the years during environmental education days.

The project not only helps mitigate the environmental impact of infrastructure and restore soil, but also fulfils a social function. Through donations and the organisation of reforestation days with local schools and associations, we promote environmental awareness, especially among young people and students. In this way, the initiative has established itself as an example of how climate action can generate shared value with local communities.

Marina Salinas (Torrevieja, Spain)

The Marina Salinas de Torrevieja marina renews its commitment to the environment every year through the Blue Flag distinction, awarded by ADEAC (Association of Environmental and Consumer Education), which is the organisation that represents the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education) in Spain. This is in recognition of its responsible environmental management, the quality of its waters, the safety and accessibility of its facilities, and its educational programme. This past year, special mention was made of the cleanliness of the marina and its facilities.

In addition to complying with all ADEAC requirements for obtaining its certification, various activities were carried out this past year, including:

  • Marine litter collection days, carried out in collaboration with the Polish sailing club Miejski Klub Żeglarski Arka Gdynia.
  • Training in sustainability and climate change for port technicians and managers.
  • Awareness campaign on climate change in the Mediterranean Sea.
