ACISA, the technology subsidiary of Aldesa Group, strengthens its positioning in smart mobility and Edge Computing through its participation in the European project Sovereign.EdgeEU/COGNIT, funded by Horizon Europe. The initiative aims to develop a cognitive serverless environment that enables the secure and efficient deployment of distributed applications across the Cloud–Edge Continuum, bringing data processing closer to where it is generated.
In this context, Edge Computing is emerging as a key enabler to reduce latency, optimize energy consumption, and reinforce data sovereignty and security, particularly in applications related to mobility, IoT, and smart cities.
ACISA contributes to the project by integrating its Mobility Hub (M-Hub) traffic light controller as a client of the COGNIT platform. This solution allows for real-time traffic data processing, running artificial intelligence models at the edge, and supporting advanced cooperative and connected mobility (V2X) services, as well as 5G and 6G technologies.
The M-Hub is already deployed in Granada, where it is being tested in a real urban environment to improve traffic management and priority for public transport and emergency vehicles. This pilot helps reduce waiting times, enhance response in critical situations, and move towards more efficient and safer urban mobility.
“ACISA’s M-Hub enables real-time processing of data and V2X communications and the execution of artificial intelligence at the edge, preparing the infrastructure for the mobility services of the future,” said Antonio Lalaguna, CTO of ACISA.
Through this participation, ACISA and Aldesa Group reaffirm their commitment to the development of smart and sustainable infrastructures, aligned with the European strategy for digital sovereignty and mobility transformation.
